Let the Premier know you do not support high rents in Ontario!

What we see happening now is that homes are being converted into multi units instead of renting on a whole. Basements are being converted into units. Homeowners get grants from the Government to assist with these conversions.

The Government supports them but leave a renter hanging out to dry? Homeowners are raking it in at our expense leaving us little to live on. Basement unit - $1600-$1800 plus, upper units - $1850-$2500 plus or! each bedroom gets rented out for $600 each with a shared kitchen/living room setting.

These conversions also create a lack of options for pet owners because of shared ventilation systems. If one tenant has an allergy then pets aren't allowed. That reduces the market for people with pets. We shouldn't be forced to leave our Province for example because of housing needs. Life is already a delicate balance from having to choose between rent or groceries.

If the Government isn't going to do anything about rental costs then change the wage to reflect today's cost of living. People are trying to move forward, trying to be productive but the Government limits that ability without care or concern as a result of high housing costs.
