We, the undersigned members of the local community, respectfully request the management of Bankstown Central to consider establishing a dedicated muslim prayer room within the centre.

Bankstown is home to a diverse and vibrant community, including a large number of muslims daily prayers are an essential part of their faith and must be performed at specific times throughout the day.

Currently, there is no suitable, clean, and private space within Bankstown Central for individuals who wish to pray. This creates difficulty for many shoppers, employees, and families who spend extended periods at the centre.

Many shopping centres across Australia and internationally have already recognised the importance of inclusivity by providing faith prayer rooms. These spaces are simple, quiet, and respectful areas that accommodate people

We believe that introducing a muslim prayer room at Bankstown Central would:

Promote inclusivity and respect for cultural and religious diversity
Enhance the shopping experience for many visitors
Support employees working long shifts who require a space for prayer
Reflect the values of the Bankstown community
We kindly ask Bankstown Central management to consider allocating a small, appropriate space for this purpose.
