Hello everyone,
As you may be aware, a petition was filed to postpone the CA exams of May 2024. However, the Hon'ble Delhi High Court has refused to grant the petition, stating that the exams will take place as scheduled. The court also expressed surprise that such a petition was filed in the first place.
This decision has been disappointing for many students who were hoping for a postponement. The court's response to the issues raised by the students was also disheartening, with the Hon'ble Justice commenting, "Don’t appear if they can’t appear". This suggests that the court did not take into account the practical difficulties faced by the students. In my case, I live in a constituency where the general elections are scheduled to take place on 7th May. In light of the court's decision, I have decided not to vote as I prioritize my studies for the CA exams.
This judgment is a slap on the face for those who believe that "every vote counts" and that voting is a fundamental right, today they made us realize that it was a joke.
I wish all the students appearing for the exams the best of luck and encourage them to prioritize their studies. If you have the time to vote, please do so carefully.
I would like to express my gratitude to Adv Alakh Alok Srivastava and his team, who took this step on behalf of all the students. I would also like to thank Adv Anubha Sahai for her initiatives and continuous support for the student community and also thanks to everyone who supported us on social media.
I would again wish all the students the very best for the exams. Let's focus on our studies rather than our country that didn't listen to our voices.
Thank you everyone for showing the support!!
