Georges River Council POSTPONE works to the netball courts at Olds Park, Penshurst for 2 months!

Your works have been stewing for 3 years, PLEASE wait 2 months!

In a society bouncing back from isolation, working hard towards connectedness and a sense of belonging within community, Georges River Council you have very loudly told our netball clubs that:

·       girls in sport don’t matter,

·       that women in leadership roles within sport don’t matter,

·       that if we were a male soccer club or AFL club you would wait until our season was finished (as was permitted),

·       the safety of children and your community is not priority.

·       that you do not uphold nor adhere to your child safety, health and safety, and development visions,

·       games will be cut by 20 minutes,

·       you do not value nor advocate for residents and visitors to the Georges River LGA,

·       paying for use of the courts for the season means you can at any time cause turmoil.

I cannot fathom how your risk matrix allowed your Councillors to vote yes for works to Olds Park, Penshurst to go ahead mid-season.  Surely, you can foresee the safety hazard you have created: children playing netball alongside an adult AFL game without any sensible safety barriers.
