NYS Paid Family Leave Act currently denies leave for stillbirth and infant loss moms. You can deliver a child like every other mother and instead of receiving up to $1068 a week in PFL benefits you are only eligible for up to $170 a week in short term disability because your baby died. This huge gap in the law needs to be changed! Whether the child lives or dies you still go through the same postpartum symptoms as any other mom.
