The #PostOfficeScandal has rightly touched the nation's heart.

We note that the @PostOffInquiry: is examining failings surrounding the Post Office's Horizon IT system and impacts on all those affected.

One person, in particular, has dedicated his life to exposing the failings of the Post Office's Horizon IT system, and righting the wrongs.

Yes, the @UKHouseofLords needs reform - an elected second chamber being one option - however, politicians are delaying taking action on this matter - instead filling the House with their 'own' people.

In the meantime, we should [must] have more influence as the nation. We should [must] demand: that those with the power to do so, appoint people who will genuinely make a difference to the lives of ordinary people in the UK.

That's why, through this petition,

We, are calling on the PM and the Monarch to appoint Alan Bates as a life peer - in recognition of his campaign for justice. #PostOfficeInquiry.

We have confidence that he would make a positive contribution to the House of Lords, and challenge, and expose, failings in our government.
