Dear Friends For over 3 years, ASMAA has been advocating on behalf of local communities in the Algarve (Portugal). The association has focused heavily on environmental protection of the Oceans, but now they’ve embarked on their most ambitious campaign to date – a Europe wide campaign that sees a request for a referendum on austerity to be run across all 28 European countries - but they lack the financial resources required to run the appropriate campaign. Why? We have observed the impact that many of the austerity measures has had on the small and medium business sector all across Europe. We have observed the number of businesses that have been liquidated or that face liquidation across the entire region, and more specifically in the South of Europe. We have seen the faces of children that are going hungry. We have seen the queues of soup kitchens increase ... there's lots we have seen in the past three years. And we are deeply concerned. Unlike many that are unhappy with the situation, but are doing nothing, we at EG Consult have decided to make available to ASMAA a fund raising mechanism to enable them to raise the funds they need to spearhead their campaign everywhere, and we are now inviting you to be part by making a donation to their campaign.
