On 13 April 2015 our petition "Prevent Construction on Eastney Beach" and a letter (the text is below the petition) were sent by email to the following members of the Portsmouth City Council: Cllr Luke Stubbs (Cabinet member for Planning, Regeneration and Economic Development, Eastney & Craneswater Ward), Cllr Aiden Gray (Planning Committee Chair), Cllr Lee Hunt (Planning Committee) Cllr Matthew Winnington (Eastney & Craneswater Ward) and Cll Terry Hall (Eastney & Craneswater Ward). The only person who replied was Cllr Terry Hall, who responded with a friendly email saying that she is retiring in May, but the petition is noted. None of the other Councillors acknowledged the petition. Nevetheless this petition exists, and presents a strong evidence that hundreds of people who love Eastney Beach want its wild beauty to remain unspoilt.
