The proposed redevelopment of the Alberton Oval by PAFC will build upon public open space parkland, remove park vegetation including regulated trees and remove this area for community use. In its place it is proposed to build undercover basketball courts and a soccer pitch which are intended for out of hours use by people outside of the local area. PAFC have indicated that they want 90 junior teams to play there, after hours each week in addition to an unknown number of soccer teams. This will substantially increase the number of parked cars, traffic volumes, impose parking restrictions upon residents, make the streets unsafe due to the increased traffic and  increasing noise in the local area and the number of people wandering the local area at night.

We require the Port Adelaide Football club to not proceed with the proposed development and to consult with the immediate local community before any future changes are contemplated. We also ask that the Port Adelaide Enfield Council not approve the Club's development application, change the planning rules for the Alberton Oval Precinct and the Community Land Management Plans that apply to the precinct.
