We, the Popeyes chicken lovers of Louisiana, nay, the world, must make our intentions known to keep the last Popeyes buffet open for future generations. 

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, formerly known as Popeyes Famous Fried Chicken and Biscuits, is a fast food fried chicken staple in Louisiana. It was started by one man named Al Copeland in Arabi, LA in 1972 and over 1500 franchises have spread worldwide ever since. However, there is only ONE buffet style Popeyes remaining and it must not be erased from existence. 

In an article written by DJ Digital on February 1, 2021, the fate of the Popeyes buffet is now in jeopardy.

The COVID-19 pandemic closed many restaurants due to statewide restrictions but they are making a comeback. Buffet style restaurants have yet to reopen. According to the article, a manager stated the buffet is not going to be reopened. It also states a new management group has taken over and are “still undecided on the post-COVID fate of the last remaining Popeyes buffet in the world.“

I am starting this petition to make sure the decision is a favorable one for all of the Popeyes fried chicken fans. The Popeyes buffet has become a tourist attraction in Lafayette.  Spread the word that we NEED this institution to reopen and remain open for the foreseeable future.
