The City of Pocatello was done a disservice Wednesday night when City attorney Jared Johnson essentially forced the Historic Preservation Commission into an either or decision --"either approve or deny the application for appropriateness." They denied approval. A more equitable position would have allowed the commission to grant the approval with qualifications: this would have required the district to make changes more in line with the Historic Architecture of the building.
