On 6/4/15 @ 6:40 pm an unfortunate event took place at Matri Sadan, Mursh Med College & Hospital. There was a maternal death d/t PPH with anemia. Pt Party had been well informed beforehand about the risk and despite all precautionary measures the mother couln't be survived. Anticipating adverse consequences and mob violence the administration informed local IC & OC. The police came and remained silent as puppet downstairs and handful of hooligans with antisocials and middle man of local chemist shop owners (10-12) in no in 5-6 motor cycles ransacked the hospital and damaged govt hospital property. Sister in charge Mamata Sarkar had been physically assaulted and the mob atracked her brutally who had to admit in AC Paying cabin with multiple injuries including head injury. Most surprisingly when this few handful goons were attacking everybody nearby the policemen didn't move at all & when requested by Asst Superintendent they told "DAKTAR DER AR SISTER DER DHORE MARA UCHIT. BESH HO66E ORA MAR KHAK". Myself with Dr Rajib Sanyal, ACMOH Sadar along with 15 sisters met C Sudhakar, SP Murshidabad and demanded dept proceedings against the policemen deputed there with police picket round the clock and immediate arrest of hooligans in non-bailable section.
