Listen. In an ideal world, we would all be exclusively listening to more enlightened, radical music 100% of the time, and Taylor Swift's oeuvre would be nothing but a hazy memory.

However, I recognize that we don't live in that world, and that some of us may eventually become curious enough to stream all or some of the album. That's understandable — Taylor Swift is a huge cultural force, and I'm not interested in shaming people or holding them to unrealistic standards.

Instead, I simply ask that you wait to stream the album after October 10th so that your curiosity doesn't count towards Taylor's first-week sales numbers. That is, after all, the whole point of this campaign — to pressure Taylor to reconsider her silence by showing her that many fans can't stomach supporting an artist who refuses to speak on the most critical issues of our time.
