We’ve reached 5,000 signatures in just over two weeks. ✍️📣🩵

That is an incredible milestone, and it’s down to every single person who has signed, shared the petition and encouraged others to get involved. Thank you.

But we’re not done yet.

I’m now asking every single person who has already signed to get just one more person to sign today. If we all do that, we can reach 10,000 signatures going into next week and that gives us an even stronger voice when we’re asking the council to act.

The council have been much more communicative recently and have now set out a timeline and their plan in more detail, even answering specific questions we’ve asked. That’s a positive step, but there are still some important gaps:

1. We need to know exactly who is carrying out the work and when.
A plan and a timeline are welcome, but we need to see clear accountability and actual action.

2. Most importantly, we need short-term measures to help the wildlife now.
The fish and remaining wildlife around the lake are suffering in these appalling conditions, with animals becoming increasingly unwell and dying daily. Whatever the long-term solution is, we cannot simply wait while this continues. We need something done now to ease that suffering.

That’s why getting to 10,000 signatures is so important.

We’ve already shown what can happen when people come together. 5,000 people have said enough is enough. Let’s get another 5,000 behind us.

Please share the petition with one more person today, ask them to sign, and remind them to verify their email.

10,000 is within reach. Let’s do this together ✍️📣🩵
