3,300 signatures but still no action

Thank you so much.

3,300 signatures in a week is incredible, and every single person who has signed should be proud that they’ve stood up and made their voice heard.

Letters have been sent to King Charles, local politicians and councillors have been contacted, and the petition has reached far beyond Canvey. We’ve had signatures from as far away as Spain and Scotland. It’s been in local papers and even the box has reported on it.

Despite all of this, we still have no action and there are still animals suffering at the lake.

The council is still refusing to dredge it, there’s no rain forecast for at least the next 10 days and temperatures are set to rise again next week. People can no longer enjoy walking  around the lake, and local businesses are being affected too. The list goes on.

We’ve created real momentum, and we can’t let that be in vain.

Please keep sharing the petition with absolutely everyone you can. Friends, family, colleagues, local groups — anyone who might care about what’s happening here.

While there are still fish, geese and terrapins hanging on in and around that lake, we have a duty to keep fighting for them.
