In 1991, Data East developed the video arcade game "Captain America and the Avengers", a four-player game that was based on the characters from Marvel Comics.  In the video arcade game, players got to select from four different super-heroes as playable characters from the super-hero team The Avengers - Steve Rogers/Captain America, Anthony "Tony" Stark/Iron Man, Clint Barton/Hawkeye, and the Vision.  The video game had Captain America and his allies team-up to stop Captain America's arch-enemy, the Red Skull, and his forces from taking over the world.

Among the guest heroes in the video game were Namor the Sub-Mariner, Simon Williams/Wonder Man, and Janet Van Dyne/the Wasp, while super-villains featured in the game included the Grim Reaper, the Juggernaut, Klaw, Living Laser, the Mandarin, Ultron, the Wizard, and the Red Skull.  The game was popular enough to spawn a video game for home game consoles, such as the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo, and Sega Genesis and Game Gear.   

Since Hasbro has been making "Marvel Legends" action figures based on old Marvel based video games for their new "Gamerverse" series, which has since been renamed as "Marvel Games", we, the fans, would like to see Hasbro make new action figures based on "Captain America and the Avengers" for fans to add to their collections and to make two-packs or sold-separately figures for Captain America, Iron Man on a bigger and taller body mold, Hawkeye, the Vision, Klaw, Living Laser, Ultron, and long-requested new figures for characters such as the Mandarin and the Wizard, among others.
