We, Crescent School students, have been significantly impacted by a rule. We have been forced to use our portfolio bags, which are made of cheap material and very uncomfortable on shoulders. Despite the fact that we thank Crescent School for giving us bags and providing good education, we have had numerous experiences with the bag strap ripping off and significant quality issues. We understand that you, the staff, may not like the idea of big backpacks, but they are much more robust and reliable to carry around. We are willing to make compromises, such as a separate bag for non-academic items (e.g., shoes, clothes) and another bag you take to classes (with minimum load) or finding a better bag design or provider to replace our bags. However, we are with you on one fact that these "Crescent" branded bags are part of the dress code. If you prefer not to let us use backpacks, we ask that the quality of the bags be assessed and fixed. However, we still prefer that you allow us to use backpacks, as they are more comfortable and durable, or find a better bag design, so we can quickly move from class to class without fear of bag breaking.
