One Element social fitness needs to improve - Wimbledon, Putney, Wandsworth

The Issue

Lots of us have chatted about this at sessions, over coffee, in the pub there needs to be some improvements at One element. It's not what it used to be. We’ve fed back to management lots but hasn’t been taken onboard so the thought this would be worth a go! People power.

Like loads of us, I’ve been going to one element for years, just over 10 years for me and for the last few since owner Tom moved it has become lacklustre and Tom seems to have given up. We want it to feel like it used to - a really incredible social fitness company. While the members are still amazing the company used to be much more fun and different from anything else, with lots going on.

It’s unacceptable that Tom ignores some of his parks and makes us feel like an inconvenience, too much of a hassle to get to, putting prices up and palming us off with any old trainer when the regular trainers are away or leave. While some trainers are absolutely brilliant others are not up to the job and he doesn’t listen to feedback on this. He just doesn’t seem to care about it. There’s never anyone coming to check on the trainers and how they run sessions. Where’s the quality check.

It’s not good enough that he ignores some of his members at some parks (unless he’s trying to get new members) He no longer takes any weekday evening sessions there’s no reason he can’t take at least 1-2 evening sessions at each of his parks a month. That’s not too much to expect.

When I signed up I joined into a small friendly owner run business where he knew everyone’s names.  Now we may as well go to a gym or BMF where the owners not involved and they don’t know names and just wear coloured bibs. He always used to know names and the members but now it just seems to be about about taking our membership fees.

I really want the energy and consistency of one element back. I know lots of people think the same as we speak about it. If enough people sign and share maybe we can get the sessions, trainers and OE we remember and want. Its never too late to change for the better but how much longer can it last the way it’s being run?

Not sure if any members will see this on here but one element has been part of my life for so long and I can’t think of any other way of getting our feedback across. I post this as hope management will finally listen to our concerns and wishes.

Thanks
