I have always been an animal lover. At home, I cherish my own aquarium, have cared for dogs, and recently adopted a cat. I visited Erie and I went to the millcreek mall in Erie and saw they had a pet shop and I went in and it was appalling and heartbreaking. It's beyond me why Heartlands Pets can't provide the most basic care for their animals. Animals at Heartlands Pets, including snakes, dogs, bunnies, guinea pigs, gerbils, fish, and rats, are currently being held in cruel and unsanitary conditions, suffering neglect that no living being should endure. Another disturbing detail was that all the employees were wearing white lab coats, giving the impression of trained veterinary professionals. Yet, the conditions were so far from acceptable—no animal should be kept in such neglect. How can so many ‘professionals’ be involved when the care is so absent?

Picture this: wasting animals trapped in tiny enclosures, lacking the space to stretch their limbs; snakes and fish suffering from inadequate habitat conditions; small mammals exhibiting signs of severe stress due to overcrowding and neglect. This is not an exaggeration, it's a call for urgent action. The animals deserve better, much better.

We have a civic duty to speak up for those who cannot, to demand compassionate care and proper oversight. It's time to hold Heartlands Pets accountable! We must call for the immediate rescue of all animals currently trapped in these appalling conditions. Simultaneously, let's demand that all sales of animals be halted at Heartlands Pets until they can prove their capability to care for these creatures in a humane and suitable environment.

These people had 1,200 signatures and they had proof that Heartlands Pets are connected to multiple puppy mills!!
