Hello friends, family, neighbours, customers, and community supporters,

My name is Destiney Straight, and I am the owner and operator of Deez Diner in Brokenhead.

I am reaching out today because I am asking for your help to keep Deez Diner open and in our community.

Deez Diner started with a dream: to create a place where people could enjoy good, affordable food, bring their families together, support a local business, and feel welcome.

What started as a dream has grown into so much more.

Deez Diner has become a place where people stop for breakfast, lunch, burgers and homemade fries, coffee, a quick meal, or simply to sit down and visit. It has become part of people's routines and, most importantly, part of our community.

I have put my heart, my time, and my own investment into this business.
I didn't build Deez Diner expecting anything to be handed to me. I worked for it.

I have invested my own money, countless hours, hard work, and energy into building this business and improving the space. I have created employment opportunities and worked hard to make Deez Diner successful.

I am proud of what we have accomplished.

That is why the possibility of losing Deez Diner is incredibly difficult for me.

I don't want to close. I don't want to leave. I want to stay. If I cannot stay I require some kind of financial support to move my restaurant as I will lose my entire investment that I made to the building in order to open as the space was not functional for a restaurant. 

I want the opportunity to continue serving the people who have supported me from the beginning.

This isn't just about a restaurant.
This is about having local businesses in our community.

It's about having somewhere our families can go.

It's about having a place for our Elders, parents, children, workers, and neighbours to meet.

It's about local jobs and keeping money circulating within our community.

It's about having somewhere people can gather, connect, and feel at home.

And it's about supporting a Brokenhead member who took a chance on herself and invested in her own community. 

I believe Deez Diner has proven that it has value here. I believe there is a future for this business, and I want to continue building that future.

Our community has already shown me that they want Deez Diner to stay.
I have collected the names of more than 500 people who have expressed their support for keeping Deez Diner open.

Every message, every customer, every meal purchased, every person who has walked through our doors and told me how much they appreciate having us here means more to me than I can explain.

I am asking you to add your voice.

Please sign this petition and show Brokenhead leadership how important Deez Diner is to our community.

I am not asking for something unreasonable.

I am asking for an opportunity to sit down with leadership, have a meaningful conversation, and find a way forward that allows Deez Diner to remain open and continue serving our community.

I am willing to work together. I am willing to find solutions. I am willing to continue investing in this business and in Brokenhead.

I just don't want to lose everything I have worked so hard to build. I don't want to lose my investment and have no where to go. Without a buyout my business will close without any opportunity to move somewhere else.
