This has truly been an astonishing week! I'm not a musician, a politician nor a celebrity. I'm a proud Canadian who saw an opportunity to turn a bad situation, such as the ticket-scalping fiasco into a 'win-win' for everyone; especially Gord and The Tragically Hip. With almost 30 000 signatures to this petition, I can proudly say that I am not the only one who feels this way. :) I do understand that there are many people out there that aren't Tragically Hip fans and I forgive them (Ha! Ha!). Yet we could really use their help too in moving this forward, so that CBC is further motivated to set up fundraising for the Sunnybrook Foundation. I would not be surprised to learn that this horrible disease has touched every single one of our families; sadly I expect that this will continue to occur. If CBC does broadcast The Hip's final performance on August 20th, MILLIONS of people will be watching. If CBC attaches a fundraising initiative, such as a 'Pay per View' event to this performance- can you imagine how much money will be raised? Let's keep this going - for Gord, and for all of our families. Thank you so much, Kelly McAlpine
