Knowledge is power so we’ve teamed up with Dr Sian Jones from Goldsmith University, London to launch a survey on toys and difference. We need you lot, the #ToyLikeMe family, to take part!
Please do us a Christmassy favour and spare five minutes to fill in the questionnaire and help us build a body of knowledge?

Dr Sian Jones has already done extensive research into the affects of playing with diff:ablilty representative toys on non-diff:abled children and their attitudes towards diff:ability. She’s finding very interesting results! You can read more here - http://www.toylikeme.org/can-toys-help-children-overcome-prejudice/
As 2016 comes to a close we want to reflect on the progress and change #ToyLikeMe has helped to bring about. 2016 has been a big year for toy box diversity.
In February Lego launched the first ever mini-figure with a wheelchair followed in November by the first wheelchair mini-figure ever featured in a Lego computer game. We’ve also seen a wheelchair mini-figure featured in the official Lego magazine.
Playmobil are currently developing a range of toys in response to #ToyLikeMe.
We have also launched toylikeme.org, our website hub celebrating all things diff:abled and toyish where we’ve been able to help 100s of parents and carers looking for hard to find products.
November saw the launch of Toy Box Tales, a series of 12 images funded by Arts Council England, celebrating diff:ablity in toys. You can view the online exhibtion here - http://www.toylikeme.org/toy-box-tales-2/
Our website is funded by voluntary contributions. Each year we need to raise £2000 to keep this valuable resource alive. If you fancy putting back that extra box of mince pies or bottle of wine and instead contribute the saving to #ToyLikeMe we would be eternally grateful!

Phew! Are you still reading? Next year there will be more...we have some very exciting plans afoot! We won't give up until the cultural marginalization of 150 million diff:abled children worldwide has ended.
That leaves for us to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
Love and friendship,
#ToyLikeMe
