“Oh boy, this is dizzying” said #ToyLikeMe spinning round in circles. The sun is shining, school’s out for half term, Fab lollies are half price in the supermarket and (shouty voice) we have a very IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT to make! Boing! Boing! Excitement factor...off.the.scale... Today #ToyLikeMe has OFFICIALLY incorporated to become an arts and play based not-for-profit COMMUNITY INTEREST COMPANY celebrating diff:ability representation in toys and children’s industries and influencing the global toy industry to better represent 150 million children with disability and difference worldwide. Since we burst out of the toy box in May 2015 we have been running on zero funds, just a lorra love and hard work. Without the status of a charity or not-for-profit community interest company we were not eligible to apply for grant funding. But now we are! Which means that we can seek the much needed funds to sustain our work, in particular to keep our website hub going and continue to connect parents and carers with hard to find products and keep pumping the positivity! We need to raise a minimum of £1500 per year to keep the website well maintained and meet hosting costs. The next few months are going to be spent filling out yawnsome grant forms to help grow our work, but you can help too! Chuck us your change! Big or small! We will be eternally grateful.
