THREE days before the yeshiva league varsity basketball championship game corona hit NYC, but there is still hope! Locked in our houses, nothing to do, everything fading away. Unemployment rising, graduations cancelled, lives lost. As summer 2020 approaches, it won’t be the normal culmination and conclusion to a whole year’s worth of memories. However, as restrictions ease, we are now seeing that opportunities long gone, are back within grasp, such as camp, shul, and weddings. The memories evoked and the connections made through these monumental events are necessary now more than ever. G-d willing, before summer 2020 finishes New York and New Jersey will permit organized 5 on 5 basketball games to resume. In the event that the finals - and semifinals - are able to occur with no restrictions, pushback, or health concerns, we feel that it is absolutely necessary that it should. Despite the fact that months of hardship were faced, and years were concluded with no conclusion, these games will be an opportunity to bring back much needed connection and positivity to all of our lives.
