We want to thank everyone who came out on December 9th to voice their opposition and concern over the loss of the DeWitt theater and Center to Costco. As expected, the tone deaf Board of Supervisors, excepting supervisor Montgomery, voted for 4-1 to approve Costco's taxpayer subsidized lease. Luckily, the fight is far from over. Costco must still undergo an EIR and obtain approvals. Together we can still affect the change we want for the future of Auburn. On that note, please check out the link below to a great guest editorial in the Journal about the big box takeover of Auburn by the Supervisors who are completely tone deaf to the needs and concerns of AUBURN residents.
