The Issue

The formerly axed KIDEX project, has made a comeback in the form of PJDLink. We tried to see the logic in the necessity of KIDEX / PJDLink - but couldn't find any. Why is the State government reluctant to understand the Rakyat's needs, but instead pander to developers?  Where is the DUE PROCESS behind this?

The rakyat is concerned, that priority for an efficient Public Transport process, is not taken seriously. The city-planning and capacity-design studies is lacking.

The Federal Govt claimed that KIDEX was an alternative to LDP highway; but this thinking process is old fashioned and backdated 15 years ago. Solving a traffic problem by building highways, means proper studies are required. Where are the published studies?

Highways only contribute to an evil vicious cycle- more cars; more highways- more taxes? What can happen, if we genuinely compare Public transport project vs PJDLink's project?

Ever since KIDEX was gazetted, the Federal Government decided to bring unnecessary cross-city highway into densely populated Petaling Jaya. This was an arrangement during BN's time, to tax road users via city-toll, and a major developer-money-making machine.

As there was no EIA, SIA, TIA (impact analysis reports), subsequently the Selangor government cancelled it. This was a lie, when they rebranded KIDEX as PJDLINK. Even more shocking, is that it is in the SSP (Selangor Structural Plan 2035). Therefore, for the next 15 years, it can be brought back again! The State government has taken the Rakyat for a ride.

Many studies showed the highway serves no purpose, as Kinrara / Bukit Jalil to One Utama route, has no urgent practical need to traverse these 35 kilometers, for the cost of the highway's project.

It will acquire close to 4000 houses (2014 numbers). Why then is PJDLink so adamant, what is their justification? Also, why are our local council reps, politicians silent on this

The elevated portion of 22 kilometers of 34.3 kilometers (63% of high-rise road) will be dangerous to the properties below, damage the skyline of P.J. city, and displace many old residents, living for more than 60 years.

Worst of all, the estimated project costing is RM 2.6B, RM 75M / kilometer; which is 7-8 time the cost of standard highways. This was 2014's project Cost. If the Cost ballooned 3x and worth 7.8B now, it will be 222M / kilometer, 22 times more expensive than normal highways.

The developer is milking the government, deploring the Rakyat's welfare, and vehemently pushing their agenda to start in Dec 2021. Why is this allowed to happen?

Multiple articles have debunked PJDLink's claims. Many transport / road design experts have mentioned of a practical need for a more efficient public-transportation model, e.g. an under-ground tunnel under LDP routes, etc.

If cost is the issue, an efficient public transport is 10 times cheaper than the highway, and can carry more capacity. Why deny the Rakyat of Public Transport? The same PJDLink route can be used for public transport, and that doesn't need an elevated highway.

A fundamental concern exists. KIDEX was cancelled in Parliament by Selangor MB Azmin Ali in 2015; but secretly allowed to go on. What is really going on here?

Till date, close to 4000 houses in Petaling Jaya, have actively protested with banners. Many new banners, posters have come up all over Petaling Jaya strongly protesting PJDLInk's actions.

We ask our politicians to urgently place this agenda for 2021 Parliamentary & State SUK action. The Rakyat will not back down till PJDLink is ended for good. Now, when is the "Town Hall" meeting going to be held?
