🇺🇦 Pilots4Ukraine 🇺🇦 Urge NATO to Authorize Retired F-16 Pilots To Serve In Ukraine

The Issue

As an advocate for freedom and a student of history I understand the essence of the phrase "Freedom Isn't Free", I also recognize the urgent necessity of experienced aid in dire situations. Today, I call upon the member nations of NATO to allow veteran retired F-16 pilots to serve with the embattled Ukrainian Air Force.

Ukraine is currently faced with a Russian-led North Korean aided invasion - supported by Iran & China - threatening its very existence. While new pilots are being trained, a shortage of experienced personnel is being felt every time a Ukrainian city is attacked from the air; or a ground operation fails due to lack of necessary air support. Fighter jets are assets only as good as the pilots who navigate them. Ukrainian pilots receive abbreviated training before heading into battle.  The first class were trained for only 9 months! In contrast, pilots from various NATO countries have years of valuable experience flying the F-16. Flight hours matter!  As stated by the Brookings Institution, "the technical and tactical acumen of the pilots is as important as the capability of the aircraft they are flying" (2018).

Our Veterans are highly trained, highly skilled individuals who could provide valuable assistance until a sufficient number of trained Ukrainian pilots are ready.  By engaging our veteran F-16 pilots, we not only provide an immediate response to Ukraine's situation but also create an environment for experiential learning for Ukraine's new pilots. This move symbolizes a show of solidarity, strength and respect for freedom.

Join me in urging NATO members to activate the service of veteran F-16 pilots with the Ukrainian Air Force. Sign the petition, for freedom sometimes, indeed, needs to be fought for. Slava Ukraini!
