PTI to CNCI. No, thank you! Who are the non-diverse members of the airport authority who thought this was a good idea? This will only make it harder to find this area on a map, not easier. Usually in marketing you make things simpler, not more complicated, for people to understand. It seems like the authority was trying to accommodate too many ideas and groups. This is 2017, not 1980, but you would not know it by this unfortunate name change. I don’t see RDU or Charlotte trying to accommodate smaller cities around them, because they are the crown jewels. If you want to be a leader, designate yourself so! If anything, the name should be Greensboro International Airport. Period! Or just left as PTI! Any failure on others to not know where and who we are is because of a lack of marketing education out to the masses. It’s up to us to tell them who and what we are, and trust me, Central North Carolina International is not going to get us there at all!
