Traveling via air can be confusing enough without renaming our airport with a name (Central North Carolina International Airport) that you can’t even find on a map. The other four large airports (Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington and Asheville) in North Carolina with scheduled airline service all feature the city’s name. Why did the airport authority have to choose a name that isn’t remotely similar to what the airlines will show (Greensboro) on all information screens in airports and the IATA code (still GSO)? One can only imagine the confusion (and missed flights) that will result from all the road signs leading to the airport that will be changed to this non-intuitive name. Maybe the members of the airport authority aren’t interested in making it more convenient for people to travel here. Doug Bartow Greensboro
