At 11:00 this morning I participated in a tour of 102 W. Cypress with the owner/builder Evan Boxwell, along with Brad Brauer and Bob Graham. Bob is Principal Architect with Motley Design Group. They do historic renovation projects which have included the Desoto Central Market at Central and Roosevelt. Bob has also had experience with fire-damaged properties. It was Bob's opinion that the home could indeed be renovated. Among other things he told us that the foundation issues could be easily dealt with. He concurred that the roof needed replacing. He has supplied us with a brief fire damage assessment that we will provide to the hearing officer on Monday. Based on what we learned today it is my opinion that we should continue to oppose the demolition. The continued hearing is on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in conference room 1W on the 1st floor of Phoenix City Hall, 200 West Washington Street. THIS IS A BIGGER ROOM, LET'S FILL IT WITH NEIGHBORS.
