Philosophy, Politics and Economics UWA Student Union

The issue

We wish to start a club at UWA for students interested in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE). PPE students are a broad and diverse group of undergraduates interested in interdisciplinary applications of the three academic areas. The needs of PPE students are similarly broad and diverse, and there is no individual society at UWA that currently services these needs.

It will not be a requirement to be a PPE undergraduate to join - instead we hope to welcome all students that are interested in the interdisciplinary research method of PPE and those interested in applying this method to current affairs.

A PPE Union at UWA will offer students the chance to meet their peers, who are often scattered among various different units and faculties. It will provide information about internships and professional development to PPE students and those interested in careers related to PPE. It will offer opportunities for 'Oxford Union' style debates on current affairs and applying interdisciplinary analysis to contemporary issues. It will provide reading groups to extend student's knowledge of interdisciplinary research. And it will offer events that showcase interesting researchers and invite speakers at the forefront of PPE related work.

If you are a student at UWA and the idea of a PPE Union interests you, then please consider signing our petition.
