"Isn't it that some girls have not even started their period at the age of 12?," asked a member of the child-led group Children Talk to Children (C2C).

In a consultation initiated by ECPAT Philippines and the Civil Society Coalition on the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CSC CRC), child and youth members of the C2C urged Philippine lawmakers to increase the country's age to determine statutory rape, currently at 12 years old.

The consultation module was developed by fellow children and youth from the ECPAT Children Youth Advocates or EYCA. The activity tackled the physical, emotional, mental, and social changes in adolescence based on the personal experiences and observations of children and youth themselves.

The same consultation will be conducted in other areas nationwide in support of the #ENDChildRape campaign.

ECPAT, CSC CRC, and the children and youth groups are partners of the the Child Rights Network in the campaign to #ENDChildRape.
