The Issue

Dear Board of Directors,

News of the turmoil within PFC has come to the attention of the members signed below, all of whom want the best for their organization. As you know, the Board of Directors act in our name, and we are reaching out in an unprecedented way because we believe our beloved cooperatively owned business may be at risk.

Reports from various parts of the community, including PFC staff, suggest that the Interim General Manager (IGM) is potentially a poor cooperative fit for our organization and that he may be causing harm that threatens the owners' investment, in particular by disenfranchising staff leading to resignation and terminations of long time and critical staff such that the store cannot function properly.

This is all the more concerning because the current IGM was selected in a manner inconsistent with our written succession policy.

We seriously urge the Board to replace the current IGM now with someone eligible under established policy, in order to assure the owners, staff, and community that we all follow the rules.

Our only interest is in ensuring PFC fulfills its ends. Hopefully, the Board will treat this letter and the intent of the undersigned with the utmost of consideration.  It is your duty to do so under our bylaws.

Sincerely,
