Saving Willow
The Issue
Willow is a malamute puppy that was born September 25, 2018. We are working to get her back from her previous abusive owner, and back to her current owner who is a Petsmart 1579 employee.
(There are multiple articles of written and verbal proof of the following)
December 29, Willows pervious owner walks into Petsmart 1579 (Petsmart is now the owner of Chewy) with Willow, looking for "training advice". This turns into the previous owner begging anyone to take Willow, saying how they can't stand the Willow, or care for Willow. A Petsmart 1579 employee decided to step up and take Willow as her own. Little did she know, the previous owner tried to return Willow from where she was bought, next handed over to a determined vet team, then harassed to have it back, just to be turned to a shelter, to then, you guessed correctly, harassed to have it returned. the pervious owner also had the car packed with all of Willow's things that same day (Dec 29, 2018) at Petsmart 1579, solidifying they were looking to get rid of Willow.
Where Willows fur should have been white, it was covered with yellow urine stains, she was being washed with Clorox wipes. Until this Petsmart employee took Willow, she had never used the bathroom outside. Willow used her crate in the garage as a bathroom, and this is where Willow was kept.
The previous owner returned a week later giving the employee the paper work for Willow. The employee stayed in contact with the pervious owner, giving them updates on Willow, until the calls turned into harassment, and the employee had to file a police report against the previous owner.
The previous owner was not to contact the employee, Petsmart 1579, or Petsmart by any means. At this point Willow has been in the employees care for over a month, going to the vet, being enrolled in puppy training classes, and living a full life.
February 5, 2019 at 10AM the employee receives a call from Petsmart 1579 and was forced and demanded by Petsmart corporate, and Petsmart 1579 to return Willow to the previous abusive owner, or they would lose their job.
Without questioning the employee, understanding the dog was being abused, or that there was a police report filed against this previous owner, Petsmart told the employee they had until 1PM to return to the store (Petsmart 1579) with Willow. Petsmart cared more about losing one customer, than the well being of Willow.
The previous owner was there, bragging about calling Petsmart corporate 20 times to finally get Willow back. Where they also stated how Willow is vicious, and they are afraid of Willow. Petsmart 1579 made the employee sit in the office while the previous owner shopped, and when Willow realized she will never see her mom (employee) she refused to leave Petsmart 1579.
The previous owner forcibly dragged Willow out of Petsmart 1579, through the parking lot, and to her car. Leaving people in the store in tears, and heart broken.
Petsmart corporate needs to own up to what they have done. Petsmart tell us they strive to help homeless animals, animals under abuse, and claim "Where pets are family". Willow was ripped from her family, and now we are working around the clock to get her back. Signing this petition will show Petsmart corporate and Petsmart 1579 we do not support their choices. We need to stand up for the pets like Willow, who have no voice, and give them a chance. With this, we can hopefully get Willow back to her owner, the caring employee, and show Petsmart Corporate and Petsmart 1579 what "a lifelong, loving home for every pet" looks like.
(Names of the employee and previous owner have been removed, for privacy reasons. Petsmart corporate and Petsmart 1579 know the names of the following individuals involved)
