Petsmart services are being kept open during a public health emergency, spreading Covid-19 unnecessarily.  Petsmart stores are considered essential because the stores sell food for many animals and most Petsmarts have a Banfield Pet Hospital in store. There are few if any measures being taken to keep employees and customers safe. Customers are free to come and go in the store as they please, with no extra safety measures being taken. Services are absolutely not essential. It is impossible to properly preform a Hands on Pet Assessment and remain several feet away from our clients. In most salons, it is impossible to even get that far away from coworkers. The virus is capable of surviving on surfaces for up to three hours, dogs and cats in our care are essentially surfaces that both the customer and the employee are in contact with, and are nearly impossible to thorough disinfect,  as they are living beings. The same goes for petsmart training classes. Please have not only this months sales plan  in mind, but consider the long term effects this could have on business if we are not allowed to stay home, in accordance with the CDC. Pet services excluding veterinary care are absolutely not essential. Please keep your customers and your employees safe.
