I started 32Petscue to prove that these surrenders are preventable by providing the actual funding for one-time fees and deposits. If a community-funded initiative can bridge this gap and keep pets in their "digs," there is no reason the city can’t do its part. We are proving the solution works one family at a time. Now, we are petitioning the City of El Paso and local developers to match our efforts by implementing pet-inclusive housing policies and capping the arbitrary fees that drive surrenders. We are doing our part—it’s time for the city to do theirs.
