To the Leadership and Board of Directors of Turning Point USA:

We, the undersigned, respectfully submit this petition requesting the immediate termination of Blake Neff from his position with Turning Point USA.

This request is based on Mr. Neff's recent public use of the term "coonspiracyslop" in reference to Candace Owens, a Black woman. The word "coon" has long been recognized as one of the most offensive racial slurs directed toward Black Americans. Regardless of any claimed intent, the use of language that reasonably incorporates such a slur is unacceptable from an individual representing a national nonprofit organization.

What makes this incident especially concerning is that Mr. Neff has had repeated opportunities to clarify, edit, or remove the post after numerous individuals publicly expressed concern about its language. Instead, he has chosen to leave the post unchanged. His refusal to address those concerns has reinforced the perception that the language was intentional and has further undermined public confidence in his judgment.

This incident cannot be viewed in isolation. In 2020, Mr. Neff resigned from Fox News after public reporting exposed years of racist, sexist, and other offensive online posts. While people can learn from past mistakes, continued conduct that raises similar concerns calls into question whether meaningful accountability has occurred.

Turning Point USA is a tax-exempt nonprofit organization operating under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Organizations entrusted with educating, influencing, and serving the public have a responsibility to ensure that their employees conduct themselves in a manner consistent with professionalism, integrity, and respect for all individuals.

Political disagreement and vigorous debate are protected and essential components of a free society. This petition is not about suppressing speech or viewpoints. It is about accountability for language that many reasonably interpret as invoking a racist slur and whether such conduct is compatible with employment at an organization that represents millions of supporters and donors.

Accordingly, we respectfully request that Turning Point USA:

Conduct an immediate review of Mr. Neff's conduct.

Publicly address the concerns surrounding his statements.

Terminate Mr. Neff's employment if the organization determines that his conduct is inconsistent with its standards and values.

Public trust is earned through consistent accountability. We urge Turning Point USA to demonstrate that no employee is exempt from the standards of professionalism and respect expected of those who represent the organization.
