The Issue

Support Fair Rights for Gig Workers - Platform's Workers ( Rideshare Drivers, Food Delivery and Amazon Workers etc.)

We, the undersigned gig workers and supporters, call on the Government of Canada to urgently
introduce legislation based on the International Labor Organization (ILO) Decent Work in the
Platform Economy Convention number 193,  held on 12 June 2026 in Geneva.
Every day, Uber drivers, Uber Eats couriers, Amazon delivery drivers and other platform workers
provide essential services to millions of Canadians, yet many continue to work without the basic
protections enjoyed by other workers.

OUR REQUESTS
■ Guarantee fair and transparent pay.
■ Protect workers from unfair deactivation and algorithmic decisions.
■ Ensure access to social insurance and workplace protections.
■ Protect workers from discrimination, violence and harassment.
■ Safeguard workers' personal data and privacy.
■ Provide fair dispute resolution and the right to organize.
■ Implement the ILO Decent Work in the Platform Economy Convention, 2026, without delay.

Gig workers deserve fairness, dignity, transparency and respect.
We urge the Government of Canada to act now and establish national standards that protect every
platform worker while supporting a fair and sustainable gig economy.
