Dear Members of the HOA Board,

We, the undersigned homeowners and residents of our community, respectfully submit this petition to express our opposition to the proposed installation of a controlled access gate at the secondary entrance to our neighborhood.

While we appreciate the Board’s commitment to maintaining a safe and desirable community, we believe that installing a gate at the secondary entrance raises significant concerns that warrant careful consideration before moving forward.

These concerns include:

• The substantial cost of installation, ongoing maintenance, repairs, and long-term operation.
• Gate appearance 
• Residents ability to access
• Potential increases in HOA dues or special assessments to fund the project.
• Delays or inconveniences for residents, guests, service providers, and deliveries.
• Questions regarding the effectiveness of gates in improving neighborhood safety.
• The potential impact on accessibility, traffic flow, and the welcoming character of our community.

We respectfully request that the HOA Board:

• Suspend any plans or commitments to install a controlled access gate.
• Provide homeowners with complete information regarding the project’s anticipated costs, funding sources, maintenance obligations, and expected benefits.
• Hold an open community meeting to allow homeowners to ask questions and express their views.
• Submit any proposal for a neighborhood gate to a vote of the membership in accordance with the HOA’s governing documents before any final decision is made.
  
  We believe decisions involving significant financial commitments and lasting changes to our community should be made transparently and with meaningful input from homeowners.
