I have been a proud member of Kappa Kappa Gamma for over a year now, fostering deep friendships and contributing positively to our chapter. I am now over halfway through my anticipated experience, cherishing every moment and engagement within this sisterhood. Throughout my time here, I have always remained in good standing, steering clear of any negative incidents, and tirelessly giving back to Kappa in every manner possible. However, due to an oversight at the national level, my membership is now unfairly at risk.

This predicament arose due to complications from a previous engagement I had with another sorority at my old school. A year has passed since, with no issues raised during that time until now, when nationals decided to revoke my membership based on this past association. This decision feels unjust, as it overlooks the positive influence I've brought to our chapter and disregards the time and effort I've dedicated to nurturing the sisterhood.

Engagements with sororities are often emotional and life-changing journeys that shape our lives significantly. For many of us, our sorority is like a second family, offering incredible support, learning opportunities, and lifelong friendships. Stripping away this membership on such tenuous grounds is not only disheartening but also places undue stress on the members who’ve sincerely supported and benefitted from the chapter's goals.

Kappa Kappa Gamma is more than just a title or membership; it’s a thriving community built on mutual respect, support, and growth. Revoking my membership undermines these values, creating a precedent that punishes members for past decisions rather than evaluating their current contributions and standing. This petition aims to appeal to the Kappa Kappa Gamma nationals to reconsider and reverse the decision to revoke my membership, allowing me to continue contributing positively to the chapter.
