To:  The Womens Shed Central Coast Committee

 We the undersigned, strongly urge the Committee to reconsider the decision to close the Women’s Shed Central Coast.
The sudden decision to close the Shed has affected many women and we believe it could be avoided as there are many willing and capable members ready to continue this wonderful shed.

The Women’s Shed Central Coast plays a vital role in the community by providing opportunities for women to learn new skills, socialise, and support one another. Multiple Central Coast charities are supported through its sewing for charity group. Thousands of women have walked through the doors. Tens of thousands of dollars in goods and monies have been donated and raised by the community in the name of the shed in good faith and these should be used to enable the shed to continue its purpose.

The Shed provides a much needed safe, welcoming space that promotes positive wellbeing and mental health for many women on the Central Coast. Dozens of small groups use the shed for workshops, meetings and events. Closure of this important community resource would be a loss to the wellbeing and social fabric of our local women.

We therefore request that if the committee wish to resign then they do so and then the Committee supports willing members to assume control and management of the Women’s Shed Central Coast, ensuring its continued operation and support for women in our community.
