📢 Petition to Save Nuzbacks & Stop the Car Wash Development! 🚨

The Issue

Developers are proposing to rezone 14405 Baltimore Ave, Laurel, MD 20707—the historic site of Nuzbacks Bar—to build an automatic car wash. This would erase a beloved community landmark and replace it with an unnecessary commercial development that will negatively impact our neighborhood.

We, the undersigned, oppose this rezoning and demand that Prince George’s County officials reject this proposal.

Why We Oppose the Rezoning:

❌ Loss of History & Community Space – Nuzbacks has been a cultural landmark in Laurel for decades, providing a gathering space for locals. Rezoning it for a car wash would erase this important part of our city’s history.

❌ Increased Traffic & Safety Concerns – A car wash at this location would increase congestion on Baltimore Avenue, making it more dangerous for pedestrians and drivers.

❌ Noise & Environmental Issues – Car wash operations, vacuums, and runoff waste would create noise pollution and environmental concerns.

❌ Better Use for the Space – Instead of a car wash, this property could be revitalized to benefit the community with a business that enhances our neighborhood, not disrupts it.

What We Demand:

We call on the Prince George’s County Planning Board and elected officials to reject the rezoning application (ZMA-2024-006, PPS-2024-034, ADQ-2024-070) and protect Nuzbacks Bar and its legacy.
