Petition to Retain Kelsey Kilgore

Petition to Retain Kelsey Kilgore
The Issue
To the TeSA Administration, TCA+A Administration and Board of Directors,
We, the undersigned parents, students, staff members, alumni, and community supporters, respectfully request that you reconsider the decision not to renew the contract of theatre teacher Kelsey Kilgore.
For the past seven years, Kelsey Kilgore has played a vital role in the growth and success of our theatre program. Through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to students, the program has seen remarkable growth in the quality of productions, student engagement, and overall artistic achievement.
Beyond teaching theatre skills, Ms. Kilgore has helped students develop confidence, discipline, creativity, collaboration, leadership, and a strong sense of community. Her influence extends far beyond the stage and has positively impacted countless students and families.
Under her leadership, the theatre program has fostered:
• High-quality productions that bring pride to our school and community
• A welcoming and supportive environment for students of diverse backgrounds and experience levels
• Opportunities for students to grow artistically, academically, socially, and emotionally
• A culture of dedication, teamwork, professionalism, and excellence within the fine arts program
For many students, theatre is more than an extracurricular activity — it is a place where they feel supported, inspired, and connected. Kelsey Kilgore has been instrumental in creating and sustaining that environment.
We recognize that staffing decisions involve many considerations and responsibilities. However, we believe Ms. Kilgore’s continued leadership would serve the best interests of students, the theatre program, and the broader school community.
We respectfully ask the TeSA administration, TCA+A administration, and board of directors to reconsider this decision and carefully consider the lasting positive impact Kelsey Kilgore has made over the past seven years.
Thank you for your time, consideration, and continued commitment to student success and fine arts education.
