The homeowners of Monte Merano HOA feel that the current HOA Board of Directors (Joe Goralka, Brenda Reid, Leta Fisher, Jason Boyer and Ashish Kulkarni) have neglected our community.  All of their terms are long expired (CA law is 4yr max), and Jason & Ashish were never elected by homeowners.

Homeowners' rights in Monte Merano HOA have been neglected and ignored for many years.  The incumbent board has not been transparent in their management of our association funds, property and activities for years - allowing vendors to delay, deny, or ignore homeowner requests while prioritizing activities that line their pockets.   A majority of these actions are being taken outside of properly convened and noticed meetings of the association where homeowners can observe the governance of the association.  To top it all off, they have not held elections for many years.  These constitute violations of the Davis-Stirling and Open Meeting Acts.

It is crucial that homeowners take action to self-govern our community and respond to homeowners' needs in a timely manner.  The safety of our community and homes is at stake.  We have multiple structural issues (spalling concrete foundation and degrading patios) coupled with deferred maintenance, causing increased liability and decreased property values.  

The community will hereby present this petition to call a special meeting in accordance with Monte Merano HOA bylaws.  The purpose of this Special Meeting is to remove the entire Board of Directors, and vote to elect a new Board of Directors in the event the recall is successful.

The undersigned members of Monte Merano HOA – representing 5% or more of the membership – do hereby petition the Monte Merano HOA Board of Directors to convene a Special Meeting of the membership, as described above.
