Ross Farm Animal Advocacy GroupAnnapolis Valley, Nova Scotia, Canada
Jul 14, 2025

On June 11th, 2025 we had a virtual consultation with Jennifer Friedman, Canada’s Animal Lawyer.

She advised us to file a complaint with the Nova Scotia Office of the Ombudsman, which we did on June 18th, 2025.

On July 3rd, 2025 we had the opportunity to speak with the Office of the Ombudsman.

They informed us that there is a large, ongoing investigation being done of Ross Farm Museum. There are multiple aspects of the farm which are under investigation, and animal welfare is among them.

This investigation now involves multiple levels of government as well as the Nova Scotia Office of the Ombudsman. The Office of the Ombudsman is coordinated by the Public Service Commission and therefore considered a third party.

We are happy to share with you that, for the time being, we consider our request for a third party investigation to be met.

We will be continuing to advocate for the animals to be removed as their well-being is an ongoing and urgent matter.

Additionally, thank you to Horse Canada for helping to spread awareness via their Horse Sport platform:
