The alternative program in high school served as a transformative space for both myself and numerous other students, fostering an environment where we could truly realize our full potential. The program's emphasis on recognizing individual learning styles was instrumental in our growth, as teachers embraced creativity and flexibility in their approach. They understood that we all possess unique strengths and challenges, and tailored their instruction accordingly. This personalized approach not only accommodated diverse learning needs but also encouraged us to explore our interests and express ourselves authentically. Through this program, we discovered our capabilities, gained confidence, and developed a deeper understanding of ourselves as learners and individuals. We all wouldn’t be where we are today have we not had the opportunity to attend this program. As a mom now, with a teen who struggles, I am trying everything I can for her to have the same privilege as I did. WE NEED TO BRING THE PROGRAM BACK! Please sign and share! 

We, the undersigned, petition for the reinstatement of the Alternative High School Program to provide a supportive and tailored learning environment for students who require an alternative approach to education.

In our community, our children only have one English high school they can go to. In this school there  exists the IB program catering to advanced students, wherein families invest hundreds of dollars to foster their children's learning beyond the traditional curriculum. However, we find it unjust that students who require an alternative pathway to succeed academically do not have access to similar support.

Every student deserves the opportunity to thrive in an educational environment that meets their individual needs and learning styles. Just as advanced students benefit from specialized programs, so too should those who require an alternative way of learning.

By reinstating the Alternative High School Program, we can ensure that more students receive the support and resources necessary for their academic success. We believe that parents would be willing to invest in such a program, just as they do for advanced education, recognizing the value it brings to their child's future.

In conclusion, we urge The new frontiers school board and Howard.S.Billings to prioritize inclusivity and equity by reinstating the Alternative High School Program, thus providing every student with the opportunity to reach their full potential.
