We, the undersigned, respectfully ask the basketball governing body and competition organisers to reconsider the one-year suspension imposed on Julian and Zach following the incident involving the SKC team.

We acknowledge that what happened during the game was serious and that players must be held accountable for their actions. However, we believe it is important that the full circumstances of the incident are taken into consideration.

Julian and Zach did not initiate the confrontation. They were responding after being physically attacked by players from the opposing SKC team. Their actions occurred in the context of an escalating situation, and we believe their individual involvement and circumstances should be carefully distinguished from those who initiated the physical confrontation.

We are not asking for their actions to be ignored or for them to avoid accountability. We are asking for fairness, proportionality, and a balanced assessment of what actually happened.

A one-year suspension is a significant penalty, particularly for young athletes who are still developing both as players and as individuals. Such a lengthy suspension can have a major impact on their basketball development, opportunities, confidence, and future participation in the sport.

We therefore respectfully ask that:

 • The full sequence of events be considered, including what happened immediately before the confrontation.

 • The actions of each individual player be assessed separately.

 • Any available video footage, witness accounts, and other evidence be carefully reviewed.

 • The fact that Julian and Zach were responding to an attack be taken into consideration when determining their level of responsibility.

 • The one-year suspension be reconsidered and replaced with a fair and proportionate disciplinary outcome.

We believe discipline should not only punish, but also provide young athletes with an opportunity to learn, take responsibility, and return to the sport.

We respectfully ask for fairness and a reconsideration of the one-year suspension of Julian and Zach.
