For more than 21 years, Rosie has proudly served the New Canaan community and welcomed generations of families and friends through its doors.

Outdoor dining on Elm Street has become a cherished part of the downtown experience, allowing neighbors to gather, enjoy the warm weather, and contribute to the lively, welcoming atmosphere that makes New Canaan special.

Rosie’s outdoor seating occupies just 2 of the 77 parking spaces on Elm Street, yet it provides an important space for community connection while supporting local employees during the busy summer season.

The sidewalk in front of Rosie is uneven and not wide enough to safely accommodate the six outdoor tables that were previously located in the street, making it difficult to relocate the seating there as an alternative.

We respectfully ask the Town of New Canaan to reconsider its decision and allow Rosie to continue offering outdoor dining in the street parking spaces on Elm Street this summer.
