We, the undersigned parents of students studying in Class 9 at DPS Ruby Park School Kolkata, respectfully submit this petition for your kind consideration to postpone the upcoming half yearly/ PT2 examination by one to two weeks.We deeply appreciate the school’s commitment to providing quality education and holistic development to our children. However, we wish to highlight certain genuine concerns regarding the current examination schedule:

1. Incomplete syllabus: Several portions of the syllabus are yet to be completed in class. The full coverage is expected on or before 14th August.

2. Insufficient preparation time: Conducting examinations just a week after syllabus completion may not allow students adequate time to prepare thoroughly.

3. Individual learning pace: Every child learns differently. Effective learning should emphasize conceptual clarity rather than hurried memorization.

4. Concurrent school activities: Students are currently engaged in projects and co-curricular tasks, reducing the time available for revision and practice.

5. Academic stress: The heavy workload has created significant stress, affecting students’ ability to focus on understanding concepts.

Postponing the examinations by one to two weeks would:

1. Allow teachers to complete the remaining chapters properly.

2. Provide students sufficient time to grasp concepts instead of relying on rote learning.

3. Enable thorough revision, practice, and doubt clarification.

4. Reduce stress and help students perform to the best of their abilities.

5. Ensure that examinations assess genuine learning rather than preparation under time pressure.
