It is with good news that we tell you the NPUC delegate meeting said yes to the following!

I also would like to say, many hands went into this movement, most of which I am not even sure of. What I know: I was asked to make this petition; by you all signing and sharing, it got into the hands of someone who knew what to do. That person/s notified me that we only needed 20% of the delegates to sign to add this to the agenda. That person/s personally contacted such people, and it was put on the agenda at the last minute. After much deliberation, 55+ minutes, John Friedman suggested that the vote should require a supermajority vote. The vote for this did not pass! We needed 51%... When the time came for the following vote, we got 62%! It passed! Praise God!

There are many to thank, most of whom I do not even know. What I do know... YOU made this happen! The widespread nature of this is what put this on the agenda to be voted on. We will continue to move the needle!

*Please note, donations are not needed or necessary. I appreciate all you have contributed!!

Concerning Candidates for Ordination: The North Pacific Union Conference recognizes the right and responsibility of each local conference to prepare and recommend names for ordination and will consider all candidates recommended for ordination as submitted by the respective local conference Executive Committees.

Rationale: Our church has engaged in lengthy conversations about fully recognizing women in ministry through ordination. What has become clear is that, in our part of the world, there are divided opinions, yet deeply held convictions on the matter among loyal Seventh-day Adventists. We believe the time has come for Seventh-day Adventists in the North Pacific Union Conference to consider allowing for the convictions of many in our region to find expression through ordaining qualified women candidates for ministry in cases where a local conference determines that to be appropriate.
